Easter Overload

Monday night we had a Family Home Evening on the real meaning of Easter.

Then we dyed Easter Eggs on Friday night....(without James or the baby. James was working, and the baby went to bed. Less mess for me!  James can be so messy sometimes. )

Then on Saturday we went to the Southwell's home for an Easter Egg hunt, and to "paint Easter cookies".  The kids had a blast. Also that night we went to a pot luck at Bria Petersen's house and another Easter egg Hunt. All without James. Poor guy missed out on all the fun.

 Wierdo.

Then on Sunday the kids hunted for Easter baskets (sorry- no pictures this year) and had their Easter Egg hunt from the Easter Bunny. BUT....Mom also told the kids that she hid a few of her OWN eggs that they needed to find.  Mom's eggs had numbers on them, and the kids were not allowed to open those yet.  After they found their baskets and their eggs, and found all the numbered eggs, we took turns opening the numbered eggs and learned more about the Easter Story....again.  In each egg there was something hidden that represented one part of the Easter Story and a slip of paper that told that part.  (Example....a round stone to represent the stone rolled from the tomb.  A purple cloth that represented the robe they put on Christ.  3 dimes represented the 30 pieces of silver that Judas betrayed Jesus for....etc.) The last egg was empty and we spoke to the kids about the empty tomb.  It was nice to end the "Easter Bunny" morning on a more spiritual note and get the kids thinking again about the real meaning of Easter before Church. I also sang in Sacrament on Easter, (Which James missed from working...) and we went over with another friend's family for Easter dinner.  All in all, we were pretty busy and had a lot of fun the whole week! Hope you had a wonderful Easter as well.
